Trigonometric Ratios for Standard Angles

In this Article, by playing the video below -

we will derive trigonometric ratio values for standard angles - 0, 30, 45, 60, 90 (all measured in degrees).

For better understanding you are requested to go through the previous lectures of the course - "Learning Trigonometry"

SIN θ, COS θ, TAN θ AND THEIR RECIPROCALS

In this article we will see about the Six distinct trigonometric ratios. SIN θ, COS θ, TAN θ AND THEIR THREE RECIPROCALS.

These trigonometric ratios are ratios of sides of a triangle and hence are real numbers.

#Introduction to trigonometry

In this session, I am going to introduce to Trigonometry.

The word trigonometry is derived from the Greek words - "Tri", "Gonia" and "metron" which means three angle measure.

This concept of mathematics is used in several fields such as Astronomy, surveying, engineering etc.

Types of angle measure:
1. Sexagesimal (English System)
2. Centesimal (French System)
3. Radian (circular)

SEXAGESIMAL MEASURE:

When we rotate a line segment about one of its endpoint, if the rotation from initial side to terminal side is 1/360th of one complete revolution, the angle measured is 1 degree.

#Mathematics: Understanding How It Works...

Hi Folks!!!

I need not remind you that mathematics is  a fundamental constituent of leading a life. For any art and science of life, be it technology be it a drawing, be it music or anything else, everything has its own way of usage of mathematical concepts. Many musicians might understand while playing a tabla, sometimes uses Fibonacci series in its plot, An artist understands importance of perspective dimensions when generating a great picture, A photographer understands importance of apt timing and focal length etc technical specifications in using his gadget. A Mechanical/Civil engineer knows what has to be the geometrical attributes of his design to withstand several loads and perform its purpose of creation. An accountant knows the importance of the ledger book and other accounts stuff that uses mathematical calculations to have profitability and other view of an enterprise. A sales manager knows what is the importance of numbers for meeting his targets These are just few examples and there are many others out there. Technology has direct and open usage of mathematics where things like music and art have hidden uses of the same.
